Green Building Material Criteria

  • Produced by socially and environmentally responsible companies
  • Produced sustainably-harvested, extracted, processed, and transported efficiently and with minimal impact.
  • Low - embodied energy
  • Locally produced
  • Made from recycled materials
  • Made from natural or renewable materials
  • Durable
  • Recyclable
  • Nontoxic
  • Resource-efficient
  • Reliant on renewable resources
  • Nonpolluting

Material Savings: You can save a minimum of $100.00 per 1,000 sq. ft. of living space on material alone. You can eliminate all of the extra wood backing on the top plates and in all of your vertical corners. On hip roofs you can order your jack trusses without the bottom cords. Do the math, it all adds up. Each of the top builders in the country could save over 2.5 million dollars per year in material costs. What would your savings be?

Labor Savings: One person is able to install THE NAILER without help or a great deal of experience. They can be carried in your nail bag and fastened with a standard staple gun. (Hand or air) No lumber to carry, no saws, no cords or hoses. Installing THE NAILER is easy and faster by 50% and the job can be done by almost anyone. By using less wood in the corners, the plumbers, electricians, right down to the home owners, all benefit.

Energy Efficiency: By using THE NAILER, you will notice a better application of fiberglass insulation in the walls and ceiling. No more stuffing those small cavities with torn or cut fiberglass. It never fits right and sometimes it is left out all together. THE NAILER allows full friction fitting batts to be properly placed without compromise. Eliminates corner freezing and cracking.

Recycled Content: THE NAILER is made from 100% recycled HDPE #2 plastic. While maintaining longevity & durability, we are able to be responsible to our future. Five gallon pails that would normally end up at the land fill are now brought into use in place of a natural resource (wood).

Conserving Our Environment: Wood is a valuable product and we know that we use it because it is so versatile. By using only five NAILERS in place of one stud, we are able to save the wood for the areas that we truly need it. THE NAILER makes protecting our trees an easy thing to do.

Reduces Costly Callbacks Due to Truss Uplift: By placing THE NAILER on the top plate to either side of the truss as it passes over a wall running perpendicular to the truss, then, fastening the drywall to THE NAILER in the corner, not the truss. This allows the truss to arch and move if it needs to without ripping out the corner joint from the wall. The drywall will also arch from season to season as needed without damage. This method of application saves an unpredictable amount of costly labor.
